New York: The police are on the hunt for a suspect in the tragic shooting of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. They just released two new images of him, and Mayor Eric Adams says the “net is tightening” around this guy.

This all went down last Wednesday outside a hotel in Manhattan. Thompson, 50, was shot while heading to an investor conference at the Hilton. It was a bold attack, and the gunman didn’t hold back, firing multiple shots.

Mayor Adams mentioned that they know who the suspect is but are keeping his name under wraps for now. They want to catch him without giving him a heads-up. He said, “Let him continue to believe he can hide behind the mask.”

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for any tips, but so far, the suspect has managed to slip through their fingers, even with all the high-tech facial recognition tools they have.

Interestingly, a backpack that looks like the one the suspect had was found near a playground in Central Park. Inside, they found a jacket and some Monopoly money, but no gun. Police divers are even searching a pond in the park for the weapon used in the shooting.

It seems like this attack was planned out. Video footage shows the shooter waiting for Thompson and ignoring other people around. The motive is still a mystery.

Thompson had been leading UnitedHealthcare since 2021, and his role was crucial in a country where many rely on private health insurance to cover high medical costs. His wife mentioned that he had received threats related to “medical coverage” before this tragic event.
