The plan includes a four-arm roundabout for better access. The site is currently a 10-hectare agricultural area. However, many residents have raised concerns about the project.
Some locals worry it will cause traffic jams on the busy main road. Others are upset about losing a popular green space for walkers. In January, the developer submitted revised plans to address these concerns.
Changes include better pedestrian access across the A4 and a new drainage strategy. They also adjusted the site layout and added design principles. Despite these updates, some residents still oppose the project.
David Hearne, a local resident, expressed strong objections. He believes the area is already too busy with recent developments. He pointed out that infrastructure improvements, like schools and roads, are lacking.
Hearne also mentioned the existing mini-roundabouts on the A4. He fears adding another will worsen traffic, especially during rush hour. He hopes the development won’t proceed.
GTBE LLP insists their plans will create a vibrant neighborhood. They envision homes and workplaces blending with nature. The design includes tree-lined paths, green corridors, and open spaces.
A spokesperson stated their vision is to create a distinctive residential area. They want future residents to enjoy a high quality of life in a beautiful environment.
