London: The BBC has just announced the new presenters for Match of the Day, and it’s pretty exciting! Starting next season, Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan, and Kelly Cates will take over the hosting duties.

They’re stepping in for Gary Lineker, who’s been the face of the show since 1999. He’ll still be around, though, covering the FA Cup and the men’s World Cup in 2026.

These three will share the spotlight, presenting the main Saturday show, Sunday’s Match of the Day 2, and the Champions League highlights on Wednesdays. Chapman mentioned that there’s no competition among them, and they’re all about teamwork.

Gabby added that even though they’re sharing the role, they won’t be working together on every episode. Each of them brings unique experiences and styles, which should keep things fresh and interesting for viewers.

Kelly, who also works with Sky Sports, expressed how nice it is to share this role with friends she respects. It’s a great setup, and they’re all looking forward to it.

Alex Kay-Jelski from BBC Sport is confident that viewers will love this trio. He acknowledged Gary’s incredible run on the show and hinted at some exciting new content coming up for the next season.
