Neighbours horrified as murder investigation launched after man dies in early hours stabbing

Rochdale: A tragic incident unfolded on New Year’s Day when a man was fatally stabbed around 2:30 AM. It’s a shocking start to the year for the community.

The victim, a 38-year-old, suffered a severe knife wound and sadly died at the scene. Paramedics tried their best to save him, but it was too late.

Another man, aged 30, was also injured in the attack and is currently in stable condition at the hospital. It’s just heartbreaking to think about what happened.

Greater Manchester Police have launched a murder investigation. They haven’t made any arrests yet but say they’re not looking for anyone else at this time.

Residents are understandably shaken. One woman mentioned seeing paramedics outside her flat and expressed how unusual it is for such violence to occur in their usually quiet neighborhood.

Interestingly, staff at local takeaways reported that police were called to the area just two hours before the stabbing. It seems like something was brewing.

As police increase their presence in the area, they’re urging anyone with information to come forward. Detective Chief Superintendent Neil Jones expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and emphasized the need for community support.
