Phoenix: So, there was this wild brawl during a game between the Mavericks and Suns on December 27, 2024. It got pretty heated, and now the NBA is stepping in.
Naji Marshall from the Mavericks is out for four games, while Jusuf Nurkic from the Suns will sit for three. The NBA’s Joe Dumars made the announcement, and it’s clear they’re not messing around.
Things kicked off when Nurkic elbowed Dallas center Daniel Gafford. That led to some trash talk, and before you know it, Marshall and Nurkic were going at it. Marshall tried to keep Nurkic away, but then Nurkic smacked him, and Marshall threw a punch back. It was chaos!
All three players involved—Marshall, Nurkic, and P.J. Washington—got ejected. The game ended with the Mavericks winning 98-89, but the drama overshadowed the score.
Marshall’s suspension is longer because he threw the first punch and even tried to keep the fight going after they were ejected. He even posted about it on social media, showing he didn’t really care about the consequences.
Marshall scored four points before getting tossed, while Washington had seven and Nurkic managed five. They’ll all start serving their suspensions soon, and the Mavericks are heading to Portland next, missing some key players due to injuries.
