Mumbai: The Ananta Conclave was all about promoting sustainable living. It brought together luxury and ethical practices in a unique way.

During the event, British diplomat John Nickell made a strong point. He said, “We really need India to fight climate change.” This was part of a discussion on sustainability.

The IMC Young Leaders Forum organized this two-day event at the Nehru Exhibition Centre. It aimed to raise awareness about conscious living.

Nickell, who heads political affairs at the British High Commission, talked about Britain’s past and its current efforts to fix environmental issues. He noted that the youth didn’t create the climate crisis, but they’re eager to tackle it. He stressed that India, being the third most populous country, is essential in this fight.

He also highlighted the need for international partnerships in science and technology to address climate change. The UK is already working with India on research and innovation in this area.

Another panelist, Kanika Chawla from Airbus, discussed the aviation industry’s role in sustainability. She mentioned Airbus’s ambitious goals to cut emissions significantly by 2030.

Chawla sees India as a potential hub for sustainable aviation fuel, which could help reduce costs while promoting eco-friendly practices. She believes that sustainability is not just a duty but a fantastic business opportunity.

The conference, backed by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Heavy Industries, sparked important talks on reducing carbon footprints and adopting green technologies.

Dr. Srikanta K. Panigrahi, the Chief Guest, expressed optimism about India’s future leadership in sustainability by 2047. He emphasized the youth’s role in shaping solutions for global challenges.

Sanjaya Mariwala, the IMC President, echoed this vision, calling Ananta a movement for a sustainable India by 2047. The event showcased innovative products and brands committed to eco-friendly values.
