Mumbai: The exhibition “Cosmic Imprints” is set to run from January 10 to 12 at The Bombay Art Society in Bandra West. It’s the first solo show by the talented artist Kanchan Todi, organized by the Svarang Art Initiative.
This initiative aims to uplift artists and celebrate various creative expressions. The exhibition, titled “Cosmic Imprints: A Canvas of Spiritual Reflections,” is a big deal for Todi and her supporters.
The event kicked off with a special inauguration led by Shriraj Nair, a national spokesperson for Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Notable guests included Neeraj Agarwal from Doordarshan, singer Aparna Mayekar, and actress Iravati Harshe.
Curated by Varsha Karale, this exhibition is a collaborative effort by Kanchan Todi, Vikrant Shitole, and Aashish Rego, who co-founded the Svarang Art Initiative.
Kanchan Todi, born in 1974, is a self-taught artist known for her abstract expressionist pieces. Her work often explores themes like sacred femininity and the essence of creation, drawing from concepts like Hiranya-garbha, or the golden womb of creation.
Besides her art, Kanchan is also a passionate philanthropist. Through The Kanchan Foundation, she has been working on women’s welfare and children’s education for over 15 years. She also co-founded the Tinte Foundation for animal welfare and helped with relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
