Mumbai: So, here’s the scoop. The Sakinaka police have filed a case against four people for allegedly scamming a 67-year-old man. They tricked him into thinking they could help his daughter get into medical school.

It all started when this guy, Suryakant Gaikwad, was looking for a college for his daughter, who had just passed her NEET exam. He saw an ad for something called SEZ Academy on Facebook. They claimed they could get her an MBBS seat through the management quota.

Curious, he called them up and was invited to their office. A woman there promised him they could help with a lower budget for a college in Sangli. She even told him to bring his chequebook. Sounds fishy, right?

When he met the so-called heads of the academy, they told him it would cost ₹68.50 lakh. They said there was only one seat left, and he ended up giving them a ₹5 lakh cheque. But later, he found out that the academy was a total scam!

After checking with the actual college, he realized his daughter’s name wasn’t on any admission list. When he tried to reach out to SEZ Academy, they ghosted him. So, he teamed up with eight others and went to the police. What a wild ride!
