Mumbai Police Solve Gold Heist and Shooting Case in Just 24 Hours
Mumbai Police swiftly apprehended two suspects linked to a gold heist and shooting incident near CSMT, recovering significant stolen gold.

Mumbai: The MRA Marg police have cracked a gold heist and shooting case near CSMT in less than a day. They arrested two suspects, Kiran Dhanawade, 47, and Haroon Noor Mohammad Madia, 45, who hail from Girgaon and Dongri. The police are still on the lookout for two more suspects, including the one who fired the gun.
According to DCP Dr. Praveen Munde, they recovered gold worth Rs 16.50 lakh and are working to find the rest of the stolen items. It turns out the four suspects had planned this robbery while they were in Arthur Road Jail. After getting out, they spent two months watching the courier businessman Chirag Dhandukia’s shop in Kalbadevi.
Both of the arrested guys have a bit of a criminal past. Dhanawade has four previous cases against him, while Madia has some drug-related charges. The robbery happened around 10:30 PM on PD’Mello Road. Chirag was moving two bags of gold worth Rs 47 lakh and Rs 16.50 lakh with two friends on motorcycles.
One of them was supposed to catch the Kokankanya Express at 11:05 PM to deliver the gold to Goa. As they were heading to CSMT, two suspects on a bike followed them, giving updates to their partners waiting nearby. When they got close to CSMT, the attackers tried to grab the bags. During the struggle, one of them fired four shots, hitting 16-year-old Zian Soni in the leg. Zian is now getting treatment at Saifee Hospital.
