Mumbai: So, there’s this wild story about a guy named Deepak Khable who got caught by the Khar police. He’s a bit of a repeat offender, you know? This time, he decided to break into the flat of an NRI CEO living on Carter Road. And get this, he made off with stuff worth a whopping ₹50 lakh!
Now, here’s the kicker: Khable has metal rods in his legs from an old injury, but that didn’t stop him. He climbed up to the 10th floor using some bamboo scaffolding that was set up for painting. Pretty sneaky, right? He usually targets buildings that are being renovated, hitting them at night when it’s quiet.
The CEO, who’s 67 and has US citizenship, found out about the theft on December 31. He noticed his CCTV was off and, surprise, the DVR was missing! After checking around, he realized all those luxury watches and gadgets were gone. Talk about a bad start to the new year!
When the police looked into it, they found Khable’s face on the CCTV footage. Turns out, he’s got a history of burglary in Mumbai. Even with his leg issues, he managed to pull off this heist. The police tracked him down to his place in Dahisar East and, after some questioning, he admitted to the crime.
They recovered all the stolen items, which is a relief for the CEO. Khable’s been in trouble before, and he’s got a knack for this kind of crime. The police are treating this seriously, and he’s now facing charges under the law for theft. What a story!
