Mumbai: So, there’s this crazy story about a guy named Japan Seth. He’s 38 and lives in Dubai, but he’s originally from Vadodara. He was back in India for a family function with his wife, kids, and even a maid. They had a good time from December 14 to 30, but things took a turn when they were heading back.

On December 30, they arrived at Mumbai airport with a bunch of bags. They checked in five of them, but one handbag was special. It had gold jewellery worth ₹7.2 lakh tucked away in a black pouch. Can you believe that?

After their IndiGo flight took off at 2 am and landed in Dubai, they got home around 7:30 am. That’s when the trouble started. Japan opened the handbag to put away the jewellery, and guess what? It was gone! All those beautiful rings, necklaces, and bracelets just vanished.

He tried to retrace his steps, even asking the maid’s husband if he’d seen anything. No luck. So, he went to the local police. They checked the baggage scans at Vadodara airport and confirmed the jewellery was there when they left.

On January 5, Japan went to the Sahar police in Mumbai. The CISF officers looked at the scans again and noticed some items were missing. It hit him then that the jewellery was probably stolen at the airport. So, he filed a complaint, and now the police are on the case. What a wild situation, right?
