Mumbai: So, the southern arm of that T-shaped flyover in Malad is finally opening up on January 14. And guess what? There won’t be any big ceremony or anything. Mumbai North MP Piyush Goyal is checking it out today, but they’re keeping it low-key to avoid any political drama.

Last October, Goyal kicked off the first phase of the flyover, but it stirred up some political squabbles between Congress and BJP, both wanting to take credit. It’s a bit of a mess, really.

This flyover has two main arms to help with traffic. The eastern arm is already open and starts near Girdhar Park Bridge, going over Malad Creek and above the busy junction. The western side lands near St. Joseph’s School, helping folks get to the Malad railway station and the Western Express Highway.

Plus, the southern arm will make it easier for people heading to Infinity Mall, Andheri, Juhu, and Bandra. It’s all about making those key spots more accessible.

They’re wrapping up the final touches now, like painting road signs and setting up traffic lights. Should be all done in a couple of days!
