Woolwich: It’s a tough time for Mary Bokassa, the mother of 14-year-old Kelyan, who was tragically killed. She’s heartbroken and has made a simple yet powerful demand: “This has to stop.”

Just two days after the incident, Mary visited the spot where her son lost his life. Paramedics had tried their best to save him after he was stabbed on a bus. It’s a nightmare for any parent.

Sadly, no one has been arrested yet. As the police search for Kelyan’s attackers, Mary shared her feelings with the Mirror. She’s grateful for the support but is devastated by the loss. “These black people who die on the streets, it’s not fair,” she said.

Kelyan was a bright kid with dreams. He turned to rap to express his feelings, especially after facing so many challenges. Mary believes the care system failed him, stripping away his passions and leaving him lost.

At the memorial, people left flowers and heartfelt notes. One message from a mother expressed deep sorrow for Mary’s loss, recalling how respectful and kind Kelyan was. It’s clear he touched many lives.

Before his death, Kelyan was trying to make a name for himself as a drill rapper, known as Grippa. Tragically, he even posted about needing a knife just hours before the incident. It’s heartbreaking to see how violence has seeped into the lives of young people.

Mary’s story is a reminder of the urgent need to address youth violence. She’s calling for change, hoping that no other parent has to go through what she’s experiencing.
