Frodsham: So, here’s the scoop. MP Mike Amesbury got into a bit of trouble recently. He was involved in a scuffle with a 45-year-old guy in the early hours of October 26, 2024.

He showed up at Chester Magistrates Court and admitted to common assault by beating. This all started when he was charged by Cheshire Police after the incident. It seems there was some footage that made its rounds, showing him throwing a punch, which led to his suspension from the Labour Party. Now, he’s sitting as an independent in parliament.

Amesbury has been representing Runcorn and Helsby since 2017 and even held a shadow minister role for a while. Last year, he mentioned he’d cooperate with any inquiries but wanted to stay connected with his community. It’s a pretty wild situation, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
