Haverfordwest: This is such a heartbreaking story. A mother, Papaipit Linse, has been given an indefinite hospital order after she strangled her seven-year-old son, Louis, to death.
It all happened at their home on Upper Market Street back in January. Louis was found in his bed, and it’s just devastating to think about.
During a call to emergency services, Linse admitted to killing her son. She described feeling like a robot and said she couldn’t control herself. It’s really sad to hear her say that.
She pleaded guilty to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility but denied murder, which the prosecution accepted. Three psychiatrists agreed that her mental state played a huge role in this tragedy.
One doctor even mentioned that she might have been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. The judge, Paul Thomas KC, made it clear that Linse wasn’t a wicked person but was seriously ill at the time.
He expressed how tragic this situation is, emphasizing that Louis’s death is unbearable for many. The court even played recordings of Linse’s call to the emergency services, where she repeatedly said, “I killed my son.”
She explained that she felt completely out of control and couldn’t check on Louis afterward. It’s just so heartbreaking to think about what happened.
Prosecutor Caroline Rees described Louis as a “brilliant and lovely little boy.” The police rushed to the scene but sadly couldn’t resuscitate him. It’s a tough story to digest, and my heart goes out to everyone affected.
