West Seattle: A family is counting their blessings after a scary incident. Someone fired multiple shots into their apartment, but luckily, they weren’t home at the time.
This all went down at the Salish Landing apartments early Thursday morning. Neighbors were jolted awake by the sound of gunfire.
One neighbor described it as sounding like a bunch of firecrackers going off at five in the morning. It must have been terrifying!
At least five bullets hit Emilie Delarosa’s apartment. She and her young daughter were out of town, which she believes saved their lives.
Emilie got a frantic call from a neighbor who was worried sick. “It’s an emergency. You need to call me,” her neighbor said.
Now, Emilie is feeling uneasy about going back home. She can’t even think about putting her daughter down for a nap there.
Bullet holes are visible in her bedroom, living room, and her baby’s nursery. It’s heartbreaking to see that in a place you call home.
After living there for two years, she’s ready to move. Emilie even set up a GoFundMe to help her family find a new place.
Her neighbors totally get why she wants to leave. “A home should be your safe space,” one neighbor said. “No one should have to go through this.”
Seattle Police are on the case, trying to figure out what happened.
