Morrisons Daily worker slams ‘disgusting’ response by shop chain and police after armed robbery attempt at New Milton store

New Milton: A worker at Morrisons Daily is really upset about how the store and police handled an armed robbery attempt. A guy came in with a knife, and it was pretty scary.

The robber, wearing a balaclava and covered with a bedsheet, demanded cash and cigarettes. Luckily, the employee managed to spray him with oven cleaner, which made him flee without taking anything.

But the worker is furious about the police response. They said officers were slow to arrive because of a shift change. They felt that if the police had come right away, things could have turned out better.

The employee pressed the panic button, but it took six minutes for the alarm company to alert the police. They were really shaken up by the whole thing and felt like the company only cared about getting the store open again, not about their well-being.

This isn’t the first time they’ve felt let down by Morrisons. They mentioned that the store has a history of not taking worker safety seriously. The employee believes that having just one person working early in the morning is risky, especially in an area with lots of escape routes for criminals.

They think it’s ridiculous that the company is more focused on business needs than on the safety of their staff. Morrisons did respond, saying they’re looking into the situation and supporting their team.

As for the police, they said the robber had already left by the time they were called. They also mentioned that there were more officers available during shift changes.
