Warrington: Earlier this week, TORUS set up a support hub for folks needing warm care packages or help figuring out what to do next.

A spokesperson for TORUS mentioned that the recent floods and chilly weather have really hit hard, affecting homes and people’s emotional health.

They reassured everyone that safety and wellbeing are top priorities, and they’re here to help in any way possible.

The hub is right in the community, ready to provide care packages and answer any questions residents might have.

Now, even more emergency items have been donated to the hub.

Cadent, which manages the gas network in the northwest, stepped up with donations of heated blankets and thermal socks. They’re also looking into providing fuel vouchers.

If Cadent’s engineers can lend a hand, they’re ready to help through their ‘Services Beyond the Meter’ team.

They already collaborate closely with the council and its Centre for Warmth program.

Paula Steer, director of Cadent’s North West Network, said they’re part of the Warrington community and want to support however they can.

She encouraged anyone affected by the floods to visit the hub at 41 Southworth Avenue for assistance.
