MONTREAL: So, here’s the scoop. Montreal police are on the hunt for a guy accused of trying to kill a woman. This all went down on Friday when he allegedly grabbed her and forced her into a car. Later, that car ended up in the Richelieu River.
According to police spokesperson Mariane Allaire Morin, they got a call around 9 a.m. about a 23-year-old woman being taken from her home in the Town of Mount Royal area. It sounds pretty intense, right?
Things took a turn when the car went into the river. Thankfully, firefighters were able to rescue her. She’s got some non-life-threatening injuries and is being treated for hypothermia. What a scary situation!
Now, the police are looking for the 26-year-old suspect. They’re searching both on land and in the river, even sending in scuba divers. It’s serious business.
There’s also a witness who claims to have seen a man swimming in the river on that same day. It’s a wild story, and we’ll have to see how it unfolds.
