Dallas: The Oklahoma City Thunder just pulled off a solid win against the Mavericks, taking the game 118-104. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was on fire, scoring 39 points and really showing his skills on the court.

This game was part of the NBA Cup quarterfinals, not the playoffs, so there’s no old rivalry to worry about. But it was clear that the Thunder have improved a lot since last year. They’re heading to Las Vegas for the semifinals, which is super exciting!

In the second half, the Thunder really took control. They’ve been working hard on their defense, and it showed. Lu Dort did a great job keeping Kyrie Irving in check, while Luka Doncic had a quieter night with just 16 points.

All five Thunder starters scored in double figures, with Jalen Williams chipping in 18 points. It’s a good sign for the team as they look ahead to the next game against either Golden State or Houston.

Even though the playoffs are still a ways off, this Thunder team is looking strong. They might not be at full strength yet, but they’ve got what it takes to win the NBA Cup. Let’s see how they do in Vegas!
