Monroe County Deputy Involved in Fatal Altercation with Suspect
A Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a suspect during a confrontation in Exeter Township, prompting an investigation by authorities.

Exeter Township: A Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a suspect during a confrontation on Saturday morning. Sheriff Troy Goodnough shared the news in a release.
Right now, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is looking into what happened. They’re handling the investigation to keep things independent.
It all started when deputies were called to Hoffman Road about a suspicious person. While they were checking that out, another call came in about a suspect who matched the description, this time on Bluebush Road.
The deputy found the suspect there, but things turned violent. The suspect physically attacked the deputy, leading to the deputy firing his weapon. Sadly, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deputy was taken to a local hospital but thankfully has non-life-threatening injuries from the altercation.
As the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who saw what happened to reach out to Monroe County Central Dispatch.
