Minneapolis: The Vikings really showed up last night, winning their seventh straight game against the Bears, 30-12. It was a solid performance that had fans cheering.
With this win, Minnesota improved to 12-2, tying with Detroit and Philadelphia for the best record in the conference. Meanwhile, Chicago is having a rough time, dropping to 4-10 after their eighth straight loss.
The Vikings were ahead 13-0 at halftime and kept the momentum going in the second half. Aaron Jones and Cam Akers both scored with short touchdown runs, sealing the deal.
In terms of yardage, Minnesota outperformed Chicago, gaining 329 yards compared to the Bears’ 284. Sam Darnold had a decent game, completing 24 of 40 passes for 231 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Justin Jefferson was a standout, catching seven passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Jones had a solid day on the ground, rushing for 86 yards on 18 carries, while Akers added 24 yards on 10 carries. The Bears, on the other hand, had some tough breaks.
They had a touchdown called back because offensive lineman Doug Kramer didn’t report as eligible, and then Kiran Amegadjie was flagged for holding. Instead of a touchdown, they had to settle for a field goal.
Quarterback Caleb Williams also faced challenges, fumbling after a hit from Jonathan Greenard when the Bears were in scoring position. They struggled on third downs, going just 1-for-12, and only managed to convert one of three fourth-down attempts.
Despite reaching the Vikings’ 29-yard line multiple times, they only managed to score six points on those drives. Their lone touchdown came late in the game on a 16-yard pass from Williams to Keenan Allen.
Williams finished 18-for-31 for 191 yards, with Allen catching six passes for 82 yards. D’Andre Swift had a decent game too, rushing for 79 yards on 19 carries. Greenard was a force on defense, racking up six tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
