Detroit: The Lions managed to hold off the 49ers in a wild game that ended 40-34. It was a nail-biter, with the 49ers only stopped by a missed field goal or an interception by Kerby Joseph.

Even though the game didn’t mean much for either team, it turned out to be one of the most exciting matchups of Week 17. The Lions improved to 14-2, while the 49ers dropped to 6-10.

Lions coach Dan Campbell made it clear that they were going for the win, and they delivered. The 49ers had a strong first half, racking up 260 yards and leading 21-13 at halftime.

But in the second half, Kerby Joseph stepped up with two interceptions of Brock Purdy. The 49ers also missed a couple of field goals, which didn’t help their cause.

Purdy got hurt late in the game, and Joshua Dobbs came in to finish it off. Purdy had a solid first half but ended up with two picks and an elbow injury that will need an MRI.

On the Lions’ side, Jared Goff was on fire, completing 26 of 34 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns. Jameson Williams also had a great game, scoring a touchdown and catching five passes.

Overall, the Lions were impressive, scoring on seven of their eight possessions. They didn’t even have to punt, which is pretty remarkable!
