Los Angeles: It’s just heartbreaking. A mother, Shelley, was on TV, and she couldn’t hold back her tears after losing her son, Rory Callum Sykes, in the wildfires. Rory, who was just 32, got trapped in a cottage in Malibu when the flames took over.

He was a former child actor, and it’s so sad to think about how he was stuck there. Shelley said he was a wonderful son and described herself as “totally heartbroken.” Can you imagine? She shared that his last words to her were, “Mum, you go, I’m staying.” That just hits you right in the feels.

She tried to save him, but the water supply was off, and she had to drive a bit to find help. By the time she got back, it was too late. The firefighters told her he died from carbon monoxide poisoning. It’s just so tragic.

Rory had faced so many challenges in life, being born blind and having cerebral palsy. But he fought through it all and was a courageous man. His mom said he defied the odds, learning to walk and see after so many surgeries and therapies.

He even hosted a British kids’ show back in the day. It’s just so sad that his life ended this way. The wildfires have been devastating, with many others losing their lives and homes too. It’s a tough time for everyone in LA right now.
