Oakley: Art on a Postcard is kicking off an online auction to raise funds for Insulate Ukraine, a charity started by local guy Louis Hall.
This auction runs from January 21 to February 4, so mark your calendars!
Since January 2023, Insulate Ukraine has put in over 36,000 emergency windows across the country. These windows are not just any windows; they’re insulating and shatterproof.
It’s a great way to provide jobs for locals while helping civilians living close to the frontline.
The goal of the auction is to get even more windows out there, especially with the tough winter and ongoing conflict.
Each window costs about £16 to make and install, which is pretty reasonable considering the impact.
They’re hoping this auction will really change lives, helping people return home and build some resilience during these hard times.
You can check out the auction on the Givergy website at givergy.uk/artonapostcardxinsulateukraine.
Fifteen talented artists are creating postcard-sized artworks for this event. Some highlights include pieces from Joseph Black, Caroline Zurmley, and Minyoung Kim.
Bidding starts at £50, so it’s a great chance to snag some unique art while supporting a good cause.
Art on a Postcard began as a one-time secret auction back in 2014, but it’s grown into a regular event thanks to its success.
