Frodsham: So, here’s the scoop. Mike Amesbury, a suspended Labour MP, got into some serious trouble after he punched a guy named Paul Fellows. This all went down in the early hours of October 26.

They were both at a taxi rank, and it seems they were having a chat about a bridge closure. Things escalated quickly, and before you know it, Amesbury threw a punch that knocked Fellows to the ground.

According to the court, he didn’t stop there. He kept hitting Fellows while he was down, landing at least five punches. It’s wild to think an MP would get into a brawl like that.

When the police got involved, Amesbury was charged with assault. Now, he’s sitting as an Independent in Parliament after being suspended from the Labour Party.

During the court hearing, they showed CCTV footage of the incident. It was pretty clear that things got out of hand, and Amesbury was heard saying, “you won’t threaten your MP again.”

Now, if he ends up with a prison sentence, he could lose his seat in the Commons. Even a suspended sentence could trigger a recall process if enough voters want him out. It’s a messy situation for sure.
