Port Huron: The city is shutting down the middle lanes of Huron Avenue for about a week. This closure is between Andrew Murphy Avenue and Bard Street.
According to a news release from the city engineer, this started on Tuesday. They’re doing some exploratory digging to check out the underground infrastructure. This info will help with the Huron Avenue Road Reconstruction Project set for 2027.
City Engineer Brent Moore mentioned that the digging should wrap up by the end of Tuesday. However, it’ll take about a week for the new concrete to dry. He couldn’t say exactly when the lanes would be back open.
