Catford: A dad was at his wit’s end with Rushey Green Primary School. He felt like he had no choice but to call the police after his son faced ongoing bullying.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they received a report about the alleged assaults on the five-year-old. The father shared that his son has been through a lot, suffering nightmares and even bed-wetting due to the stress.

He claimed his son was punched, scratched, and even hit with hockey sticks. One incident left visible scratches on his neck and face. The dad took photos to document the injuries, but the school said they were working with the family to fix things, which the father disputed.

After raising concerns, he found out social services were investigating him, which he found outrageous. He felt targeted for speaking out and shared documents showing his son had been hurt multiple times at school.

He said, “The trust is gone. I can’t believe they can keep my child safe.” He’s now looking to move his son to a different school.

He wanted to stay anonymous to protect his son but felt it was important to speak up for other parents. He even shared emails showing his worries about the bullying and the lack of proper reporting from the school.

Despite his efforts, the bullying continued, with more injuries reported in the following weeks. His son’s doctor noted the emotional toll it was taking on him, saying he was more withdrawn and having nightmares.

In December, the father called the police again, hoping for action. But soon after, he learned the school had asked social services to look into his home life, which added to his frustration.

He mentioned that a social worker visited and his son expressed his dislike for school because of the bullying. Now, he’s also reaching out to his MP for help.

Rushey Green Primary School stated they prioritize student safety and have procedures in place. They claimed to be working closely with the family, but the father disagreed with that assessment.
