London: So, there’s this Met police officer, PC Rajan Solanki, who’s in a bit of hot water. He’s set to appear in court this week for allegedly assaulting a guy at Whipps Cross Hospital.

This all went down last June when a man was brought in for a mental health assessment. Apparently, things got a bit rough when the officer tried to reapply handcuffs.

They say Solanki used excessive force during the whole situation. Now, he’s facing charges of assault by beating and will be in Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday.

The whole thing kicked off an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and they sent their findings to the Crown Prosecution Service, which decided to move forward with the charges.
