Greater Manchester: The Met Office has just dropped another weather warning for the North West. It looks like winter is really settling in this year.
This yellow warning kicks in at 3am on Thursday and runs until noon. It covers Wigan and parts of Greater Manchester, so keep an eye out.
But it’s not just Manchester; Merseyside, west Lancashire, and most of Cheshire are also in the mix. They’re saying snow and icy patches could mess with travel plans on Thursday.
So, if you’re heading out, be careful on those icy pavements and roads. A spokesperson from the Met Office mentioned that we might see rain and sleet at lower levels, but snow is expected inland and in higher areas.
With temperatures dropping, untreated surfaces could get pretty slippery. They’re predicting a few centimeters of fresh snow, especially above 100 meters. Plus, there’s already an ice warning in place until midday today, covering all of Greater Manchester.
