Gloucestershire: Temperatures are dropping below freezing this week. The UK is facing another cold spell, and snow could be on the way.

The Met Office reports a high-pressure system is moving in. This means colder weather is expected by the end of the week. We’ve had wet and windy conditions lately, but that’s about to change.

In Gloucestershire, overnight lows could reach -2°C by Wednesday. Freezing nights will continue until at least Monday. Daytime highs won’t reach double figures, only hitting around 3°C on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Today, we might see some rain in Gloucestershire. But the rest of the week looks bright with plenty of sunshine. The weekend, however, is expected to be overcast.

Frank Saunders, the Met Office Chief Meteorologist, warns of a temperature dip this weekend. High-pressure will bring easterly winds, low temperatures, and a chance of snow and ice.

Weather forecaster Exacta Weather also predicts colder weather and snow around February 8-15. They expect widespread snow events across large parts of the country.

### Met Office West Country forecast
**Tuesday**: It will start dry and cloudy, with some bright spells. Rain will arrive in Cornwall by morning and spread east in the afternoon. Expect windy but mild conditions, with a maximum temperature of 11°C.

**Tuesday night**: Mainly dry overnight with clear periods. Isolated showers may occur in coastal areas. It will turn chilly, with a touch of frost in the countryside. Minimum temperature will be around 1°C.

**Wednesday**: A mostly dry day with sunny spells and some clouds. Isolated light showers are possible, but most places will stay dry. It will feel a bit colder, with a maximum temperature of 8°C.

### Met Office UK long-range forecast
**Saturday, February 8 to Monday, February 17**: High pressure is likely to sit northeast of the UK. This means easterly winds and cold conditions, with a chance of snow. Most places will be dry but cloudy, with some wintry showers possible near southern and eastern coasts.

**Tuesday, February 18 to Tuesday, March 4**: High pressure will likely dominate at first. There’s a chance for a less-cold spell later in the month. Temperatures may be below average initially, with overnight frosts, but could rise later.
