Met Éireann Issues Double Status Yellow Warning for Cork’s Downpours
Cork is bracing for heavy rain and strong winds as Met Éireann issues warnings for today and tomorrow
Cork, Ireland, Storm Éowyn, Weather Warnings
The rain started early this morning and is expected to stick around until later today. There’s a chance of spot flooding, so keep an eye out if you’re out and about. The wind warning kicked in shortly after the rain warning and will last until noon.
Temperatures are on the chilly side, hovering around 9ºC, with a high of 11ºC later. It’s not the best day to be outside, that’s for sure.
Later tonight, another warning will come into play as strong gales are expected to pick up again after a brief break. This one starts at 11 pm and will last until early Monday morning.
With Storm Éowyn having already caused some damage, the forecaster is cautioning that any structures affected could be at risk during these high winds.
Looking ahead, we might see some clearer skies after this weekend’s downpours. By Tuesday afternoon, things should start to improve, although a bit of rain is still on the cards throughout the week.
So, if you’re planning to head out, make sure to check the weather first. Stay safe and dry!
