Rehearsals for ‘Messiah’ Start January 12 in Morrison
The Morrison Ecumenical Chorus will kick off rehearsals for Handel’s ‘Messiah’ on January 12 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
Morrison, Illinois, Messiah, Handel, Chorus, Rehearsals
The concert is set for 7 p.m. on Palm Sunday, April 13, at the same church. It’s a great chance for singers from the area to join in and have some fun.
This event is sponsored by the Morrison Ministers Council, and they’ve been putting on “Messiah” performances every other year since 1956.
Kathy Janicek, the choir director at Bethesda Lutheran Church, will lead the chorus, with Christine Holmer from Clinton, Iowa, on piano.
If you want to join in, make sure to attend at least half of the rehearsals. Don’t worry if you don’t have the music; they’ll have scores available to borrow.
And if you can’t make it to the first rehearsal but still want to participate, just reach out to Janicek at 815-772-2874 or shoot her an email at kjanicekcubs@gmail.com. It’s going to be a great time!
