Spittal: Tina Hamilton, the community engagement officer from MCR Pathways, was the special guest at the Spittal SWI meeting. The president, Anne Gunn, kicked things off by welcoming everyone and wishing them a Happy New Year.

After handling some business matters, including plans for a whist drive on January 31, Anne introduced Tina. MCR Pathways is a national charity looking for volunteers to mentor young people, and Tina shared how rewarding it can be.

She passed around some leaflets and gave each member a bag and a pen. The members had plenty of questions, and Tina was happy to answer them.

Later, she teamed up with Linda Levack to judge some competitions. The results were exciting! For the Biscoff rocky road, Elizabeth Holman took first place, followed by Liz Hewitson and Ruth Manson. In the handmade jewelry category, Anne Gunn snagged the top spot, with Sarah Holman McGillivray and Margaret Bremner close behind.

Liz Hewitson was the tea hostess, and Heather Carberry won the raffle. The meeting was made possible thanks to funding from the Halkirk District Benefit Fund.
