Leyland: So, guess what? Hundreds of folks showed up for the Mental Elf fun run, and it was a blast! They raised a whopping £17,000 for Lancashire Mind.

This was the 11th year for the event, held at Worden Park. Families could choose from a 5k, a 2k, or even a 10k run. It was all about having fun and supporting a great cause.

Lancashire Mind was thrilled with the turnout, saying this was one of their best events ever. The money raised will help them run a 10-week Bounce Forward program in eight schools, reaching over 240 kids.

Nicola Tomkins, who helped organize the event, expressed her gratitude to the 400+ participants. She said their energy and commitment really made a difference in raising awareness for mental health.

It was a day filled with community spirit, festive vibes, and some great music from the Worldwise Samba Drummers. Even BBC stars Jasmine and Gabriella T. joined in on the fun!

David Dunwell, the chief executive of Lancashire Mind, called it a heart-warming day. He thanked everyone who participated, saying the funds would directly support vital mental health services in the area.

Many local businesses sponsored the event, including SPAR and several others. Philippa Harrington from James Hall & Co. Ltd mentioned how lovely the festive atmosphere was and praised the event’s growth in schools.

As Lancashire Mind gears up to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025, they’re encouraging everyone to join in the fundraising efforts. It’s all about making a positive impact in the community!
