Meadow Mill Residents Given Date to Return Home After Power Restored
Residents of Meadow Mill are set to receive updates on their return home as power is restored following recent flooding

Stockport: So, here’s the scoop. Power is finally coming back to the apartments at Meadow Mill after that crazy flooding two weeks ago. Residents are waiting to hear when they can move back in.
Electricians are on-site, working hard to get the electricity back up and running using a temporary setup. They’re also testing safety systems, and that should wrap up by the end of the week.
They’re planning to switch from this temporary power to a permanent connection on Saturday, January 18. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!
Water supply is back too, but tenants can’t use it just yet while they clean the pipes. It’s a bit of a hassle, but at least things are moving in the right direction.
Meadow Mill is owned by Awal Investments and managed by CERT. Unfortunately, some folks lost their cars in the flooding, which is just awful.
In a recent update, CERT told residents they’ll get more info after the power switchover about when they can return home. They’re doing their best to keep everyone in the loop.
Residents have had a tough couple of weeks since the flooding made their homes unlivable on New Year’s Eve. The car park and ground floor were completely underwater, and emergency services had to rescue some tenants trapped inside.
After the chaos, many had to crash with friends or family or fork out for hotels, which can get pricey. A few even moved back in, despite the lack of power and water, just to save some cash.
They’ve been dealing with freezing temperatures too, which is no fun at all. Thankfully, AXA, the insurance provider, stepped in to help with accommodation for those who couldn’t return.
Just a bit of history: Meadow Mill was built way back in 1880 and turned into apartments after renovations wrapped up in May 2021. It’s been quite the journey for everyone involved!
