Dallas: So, Luka Dončić had to leave the game early on Christmas Day. He got hurt during the first half against the Timberwolves. It looked like a noncontact injury, which is always a bit scary.
He was making a move when he suddenly pulled up and started limping. You could tell he was upset as he walked off the court. Thankfully, he managed to get to the locker room on his own, but he was definitely limping.
The Mavericks ruled him out at halftime. They didn’t give too many details, but he had a calf strain earlier in the season. He had just come back from that, so fingers crossed it’s not too serious.
Before he left, Luka scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds in just 16 minutes. He was shooting pretty well, too. The team struggled a bit without him, especially in the second quarter when the Timberwolves took a big lead.
Even though the Mavericks made a late push, it wasn’t enough to win. Kyrie Irving stepped up in Luka’s absence, scoring 39 points, but it just wasn’t their day. They’ll have to regroup quickly since they’re facing the Suns next.
