Boston: As word spread about the passing of Jimmy Carter, the 39th President, many leaders in Massachusetts shared their thoughts. They remembered him fondly and highlighted his contributions.

Senator Susan Warren described him as a “true public servant.” It’s clear he made a lasting impact on many.

Democratic Whip Katherine Clark also chimed in, saying Carter was “always a peacemaker” and a champion for democracy worldwide.

Congresswoman Lori Trahan called him “a good man who always saw the best in others.” Such kind words really show how much he was respected.

Governor Maura Healey praised Carter for his dedication to peace and human rights. She even ordered flags at state buildings to be flown at half-staff until January 28, 2025, in his honor.
