Benwell: A married man sent explicit photos to someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl. Instead, it was an undercover police officer.
Norman Little, 58, messaged the “girl” on Snapchat. He claimed he was lonely because he and his wife slept in separate bedrooms.
During their chats, Little asked for photos of her in underwear and swimwear. He also sent explicit images of himself. Police tracked his messages and arrested him.
Little pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. He received a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
The judge noted that his loneliness didn’t justify his actions. Thankfully, there was no real 13-year-old girl involved.
Prosecutor Gurjot Kaur shared that Little communicated with the decoy almost daily for weeks. He initially thought he was chatting with a girl named Chloe.
Little admitted he was 57 and acknowledged Chloe was only 13. He even expressed concern about their contact being dangerous.
He called her “sweetie” and sent kisses in his messages. Eventually, he sent explicit photos before police arrested him.
Little’s lawyer mentioned marital issues but said he felt remorseful. He maintained his job and claimed his marriage improved since the incident.
Along with his suspended sentence, Little must complete 100 hours of unpaid work. He’ll also be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years and has a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
