Llandudno Junction: A historic Georgian mansion is going to auction soon. It has plans to become a high-end wedding venue and hotel. Australian developer Craig Lambie bought Marl Hall in 2022. The property is next to the A470.
Before this, the site was an outward bound learning center for school trips. It closed in October 2021. There was a proposal to house asylum seekers there, but it faced local backlash. The Home Office then removed it from consideration for migrants.
Mr. Lambie applied for planning permission to invest £2 million into the site. Last summer, Conwy council approved the plans. The renovation will include en suites and a spa. Mr. Lambie expressed excitement about the project and support from Visit Wales.
Now, the mansion is listed for auction with Savills. The guide price is £650,000. Savills describes it as a unique opportunity to own a Grade II listed Georgian building. It spans about 16,608 square feet and sits on a 3.6-acre plot.
The main house has three floors and was used as an outdoor learning center since 1971. Planning permission is in place for conversion to a hotel. The auction is set for February 27.
