Woolwich: A tragic incident unfolded when a 14-year-old boy was fatally stabbed on a double-decker bus. It happened yesterday afternoon, and now the police are on the hunt for the suspect.

Authorities received a call just before 2:30 PM about the stabbing on a route 472 bus. They rushed to the scene, joined by ambulance crews and an air ambulance.

Sadly, despite the paramedics’ efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries shortly after they arrived. Chief Superintendent Louise Sargent called it a “horrendous crime” and expressed her condolences to the victim’s family.

At this point, no arrests have been made, but the police are working quickly to track down those responsible. They’ve set up cordons and closed off roads while they investigate.

CS Sargent reassured the community, saying they can expect to see more police around Woolwich. She urged anyone who saw what happened or has any information to reach out to the police.

This incident follows another stabbing in the area just days earlier, where an 18-year-old student was critically injured. Police are still looking into that case, but there’s no evidence linking the two attacks.
