Manchester: A new skyscraper is on the horizon, aiming to change how we live in the city. But right next door, things aren’t looking so bright.

Plans for a 44-storey apartment block on Whitworth Street West are moving forward. This building will have 364 flats, with a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom options.

The developers, Glenbrook, are excited about this project. They want to create a space that really meets the needs of city dwellers today and in the future.

Daniel Roberts, the development director, shared that they’ve taken a lot of feedback into account. They’re keen to make this place a community hub with great amenities.

However, not everything is rosy. The neighboring project, called Vision Manchester, has hit a snag. It was supposed to be one of the city’s first ‘skinnyscrapers’ but has faced serious issues.

Documents show that the developer went into administration last year. The land has now been sold to a new company, which is looking to come up with a different plan for the site.

This means that the original plans for the 37-storey tower are likely off the table. It’s a bit of a letdown for those who were looking forward to it.
