Manchester United’s Dream Line-Up After January Transfer Window
Manchester United aims to strengthen their squad with potential signings and player sales as they navigate a challenging season ahead

Manchester: Right now, Manchester United is sitting in 14th place in the Premier League, just seven points clear of the relegation zone. They really need to make some moves in the January transfer window.
But here’s the kicker: the word is they’ve got “no money” to spend. So, head coach Ruben Amorim might have to stick with the squad he has until summer. Not exactly the best news for him, right?
Amorim, who came over from Sporting Lisbon, is in a tough spot. His team is lacking confidence, and he needs something to spark them back to life. It’s a bit of a mess.
To make any new signings, United will likely have to sell some players first. Marcus Rashford is on the chopping block, even though he’s turned down offers from Saudi Arabia. His high salary could complicate things, though.
There are other players who might need to go too. Tyrell Malacia and Joshua Zirkzee have been linked with Juventus, and there’s always chatter about Casemiro’s future.
If they can raise some cash, they should really look for a left-sided wing-back and a striker. But finding a top-notch striker in January? That’s a tall order.
They might have to settle for a loan deal instead. A few names have popped up as potential options.
Amorim is also keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper to challenge Andre Onana, but it’s hard to see Onana losing his starting spot anytime soon. He’s been solid since joining from Inter Milan.
With a busy schedule and some injury issues, Amorim hasn’t been able to stick with a consistent lineup. But as the fixtures ease up, he might finally get a chance to settle on a solid defense.
Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lisandro Martinez could form a strong backline. Martinez has had a rough patch lately, but he’s still the only senior left-footed center-back they have.
Amad has been shining since Amorim took over and should be back in the right wing-back role. He’s been great there, and Amorim seems to think that’s where he belongs.
On the left side, though, they could use a fresh face. If they can sell some players, they might be able to snag Nuno Mendes from PSG, who has worked with Amorim before.
Mendes hasn’t been getting much playtime in France, so a reunion could be a win-win.
In midfield, Manuel Ugarte is improving and should be a key player. Kobbie Mainoo seems like the best fit to partner with him.
Bruno Fernandes is a lock for one of the No.10 spots, even if his form has been a bit shaky. He’s the captain, so he’s not going anywhere.
Who takes the other No.10 spot is still up for grabs. Alejandro Garnacho and Rashford will be in the mix, but if Mason Mount can shake off his injury, he’ll be a strong contender too.
Finding a striker this month is going to be tough. They might have to look at loan options. Randal Kolo Muani from PSG has been mentioned, but he’s not exactly lighting it up with just two goals this season.
So, Rasmus Hojlund might still be the go-to guy up front.
In a perfect world, here’s how United could line up after the January window: Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez; Amad, Mainoo, Ugarte, Mendes; Mount, Hojlund, Fernandes.
