Manchester: So, it’s a bit of a mess at Manchester Airport today. They’ve had to close the runways because of all the snow. The airport mentioned that they’re dealing with “significant levels of snow” and are working hard to clear it up.
This snow has really thrown a wrench in travel plans across Greater Manchester. The temperatures have dropped again, and it looks like this cold snap is sticking around for a bit.
There’s even a yellow weather warning in place for snow and ice until 11 am today. Roads like the M60 and M56 are seeing some serious delays, and some major routes are pretty much impassable right now.
Oh, and don’t forget about the A555 relief road to the airport—it’s still closed from the recent flooding and icy conditions. Plus, a bunch of schools are closed too.
The airport put out a statement saying, “Our runways are closed due to significant levels of snow, as our teams work hard to clear them as quickly as possible.”
They also emphasized that passenger safety is their top priority and asked everyone to check with their airlines for the latest updates. They’re doing their best to keep everyone informed.
So, if you’re traveling today, make sure to allow some extra time and stay updated. It’s a bit of a wait, but they’ll get things sorted out soon!
