Manchester: So, here’s the scoop! Manchester Airport just dropped a big update for easyJet travelers this week. They’ve switched up where flights are leaving from.
Now, easyJet flights will be taking off from Terminal 1 Departures B instead of Departures A. This change kicked in on Wednesday, January 15.
The airport shared this info on X, saying, “If you’re flying with @easyJet from Manchester Airport, check-in has moved to Terminal 1 Departures B, which is on the lower level next to the drop-off area.”
Why the change? Well, it’s all part of a massive £1.3 billion makeover happening at the airport. They’re wrapping up this summer, and Terminal 2 is set to be the new hub, while Terminal 1 will be closing down.
Throughout this project, passengers have been kept in the loop about various changes. Towards the end of 2024, a bunch of airlines, including Lufthansa and TAP Air Portugal, were moved to Terminal 2.
And get this! In September, they announced that 22 new shops, bars, and restaurants will open in Terminal 2 next summer. We’re talking about the first Wetherspoons in the airport, a Greggs, and even a Fever-Tree cocktail bar!
Luxury brands like Pandora and Chanel will also be setting up shop there, with Chanel opening its first standalone airport beauty boutique. Plus, you’ll find popular high street names like LEGO, WH Smith, and Boots.
Food lovers will be thrilled too! There’s going to be a huge 472-seater food hall called the Great Northern Market, featuring seven international street food kitchens, including a spot from the famous Manchester dessert brand Gooey.
So, if you’re flying out of Manchester soon, make sure you check the new terminal info!
