London: A former surgeon, Mohammad Siddiqui, has been sentenced to over five years in prison. He performed unnecessary circumcisions on kids, which is just awful.

Siddiqui, 58, ran a mobile service across southern England and the Midlands. He admitted to causing “painful cruelty to children.” Can you believe he kept doing this even after being banned from practicing?

The court found out that he ignored hygiene rules while performing these procedures. He even used a prescription-only anesthetic to carry out surgeries at kids’ homes. It’s shocking!

He pleaded guilty to 25 charges, some involving kids under 16. The judge heard how he advertised his services despite being struck off. It’s just mind-boggling how he thought he could get away with it.

Anja Hohmeyer from the Crown Prosecution Service said Siddiqui left kids with emotional and physical scars. He didn’t care about the harm he was causing. It’s heartbreaking to think about what those kids went through.

Detective Chief Superintendent Fiona Bitters mentioned that this was a complex investigation. They wanted to ensure justice for the children affected. Even though Siddiqui tried to delay the process, the evidence against him was strong.

It’s a relief to see him finally held accountable for his actions. Let’s hope this serves as a warning to others who think they can exploit vulnerable people.
