Manchester: So, there was this guy, Boris Danso, who decided to target university students in the city. He used a fake identity to sneak into their apartments and made off with their stuff. Pretty bold, right?

It all started when students reported their flats had been broken into. CCTV footage helped the police figure out who he was after they noticed him trying door handles at various student accommodations.

Later that day, he actually got into one of the buildings using his false ID. He managed to steal around £1,000 from two different rooms while rummaging through their things for cash and valuables.

But it didn’t end there. Just before midnight, he tried to get in again, but the security team had already called the cops, and they canceled his access card. Talk about bad luck!

On August 6, the police were gathering evidence at the university when they spotted Danso on the street. They arrested him on suspicion of burglary, and after a quick investigation, he was charged.

At 33 years old, Danso, who lived on Jevington Walk, ended up getting a three-year sentence after a trial at Liverpool Crown Court. Not exactly a happy ending for him!

Detective Constable Lauren Roach from GMP’s Manchester Central Neighbourhood team said it was clear that Danso had planned these burglaries. She mentioned how quickly they identified him thanks to the CCTV footage, which led to his arrest.

She also noted how frightening it must have been for the victims to realize someone had been in their homes. But at least they can find some comfort knowing he’s behind bars now.

Roach emphasized that the police are not just about catching criminals; they also work hard to educate the community on how to prevent burglaries. They want to hear from anyone with information about recent break-ins, no matter how small it may seem.
