Emergency services jumped into action, with Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service showing up quickly. They got a call about someone feeling unwell in Eldon Square.
The ambulance crew was on the scene in no time. They sent two ambulance teams, a specialist paramedic, and a clinical team leader to help out. The man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary for some extra care.
Police were also there to assist. They confirmed they were alerted shortly after 3:40 PM about the situation. Thankfully, the emergency services were quick to respond, and the man is now getting the treatment he needs.
