Swansea: A thief named Ross Philippart stole a charity box and a woman’s handbag. The charity box was for military veterans. The woman had saved £200 for her family’s food.

Philippart’s crime spree included stealing frozen fish and other items. He took the handbag from a laundrette, which had cash and a sentimental ring.

The judge called his actions “very mean.” Philippart has a long history of theft and drug offenses. His lawyer said addiction has affected his life greatly.

He was caught on CCTV stealing from a bar and a shop. Police found drugs on him when he was arrested.

The woman who lost her handbag felt unsafe at work. The bar owner was upset about the stolen charity box.

Philippart, 43, pleaded guilty to five theft charges and drug possession. He was sentenced to six months in prison. He’ll serve half in custody and the rest in the community.
