Perth: A man named Gel Aguaviva has gone missing from a Rio Tinto ship. He was working as a deck fitter on the RMT Zheng He, which was on its way from China to Western Australia.
He was reported missing on December 26 while the ship was in international waters near the Philippines. That’s a pretty scary situation, right?
Since then, there’s been a big search effort. Rio Tinto is teaming up with the ship’s crew manager, Anglo Eastern, and other authorities to find him.
The Philippine Coast Guard has also jumped in to help with the search and rescue operation. It’s a tough time for everyone involved.
